About Me
Ideal Clients
Are past experiences keeping you stuck? Are you frequently triggered into big emotional reactions? If you’re behaving in ways you know are unhelpful, you’ve come to the right place.
I support you in addressing trauma, anxiety and depression by helping you find relief and build self-compassion. I collaborate with you to help you heal from old wounds and live the life you envision. I specialize in working with queer and neurodivergent clients, especially people who discovered their identity later in life.
How I Can Help You
If the past is affecting you, it often shows up as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or problems in relationships. I work best with people who are ready to go beyond talk therapy and work to identify the roots of problems.
I use proven methods for helping to resolve traumatic memories that still trigger you. I have an active approach to focusing our work so it’s most effective. I’m gentle yet challenging in my therapeutic style.
I have more than 18 years of experience in the mental health and substance use disorder field and am a Certified EMDR Therapist. I most often use EMDR to help clients find lasting healing. EMDR is a comprehensive, evidence-based approach for recovery from trauma. I have advanced training in relational approaches to EMDR, which focus on healing wounds of attachment from childhood trauma.
Special Focus
My lived experience as a queer and neurodivergent person informs my work with clients. I am especially attentive to the ways in which years of living with oppression and exclusion affect our self-esteem, bodies and relationships. I know the LGBTQIA+ community encompasses a wide range of experiences and want to hear your unique story.
Fun facts
I go by the nickname “Blue,” my Appalachian Trail name. I have backpacked 900 miles of the AT and look forward to someday summiting Mt. Katahdin. I love creating naturalistic gardens for birds, bees and butterflies and reading 19th-century novels in front of a fire.
