About Michele
About Me
I believe that in a safe and supportive environment, things that once felt impossible can come to feel possible. I care deeply about creating this kind of environment with and for my clients. I am a white queer individual, primarily using Internal Family Systems (IFS) as well as psychodynamic frameworks. My colleagues and patients often refer to me as warm, curious, and direct. Professionally, I have worked in a variety of settings including group practices and college counseling centers. I am drawn to working with people who are existing outside of societal norms, especially gender/sexuality, neurodivergence, and/or the intersection of the two. I also enjoy working with people with complex relationships with their families, people with social and relational anxiety, and people exploring decision points in their lives.
You can learn more about my approach and IFS on my webpage: michelekaufmantherapy.com
About You
You might be curious about yourself and want to better understand why you are the way you are. Perhaps you want to feel sturdy in yourself and in your life decisions. You may want or need support navigating challenges with family, work, or relationships. You might want to explore your relationship to your various identities. I love working with adults and young adults who are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent.
About Our Work
We'll work together to understand your stories and patterns, explore where you'd like to feel shifts, and create an abundance of space and time for you to process.. We’ll spend the first few meetings talking about your current life, your internal and external world, and your history. We’ll decide where you want to feel change and where you want to learn more about yourself. We’ll check in every so often to see how the work is feeling.
